Energy healing is a holistic approach to wellness that aims to balance the energy flow within the body, promote relaxation, and facilitate physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Energy healing modalities like Reiki, and chakra balancing have gained popularity in recent years as people seek alternatives to conventional medicine. If you are considering an energy healing session, it’s important to know what to expect.
During my teenage years living in Japan, I was eager to learn Reiki to help alleviate the injuries I sustained from years of playing sports. I was taught this practice by a Japanese elder, and when I returned to Australia, I continued to expand my knowledge of holistic and intuitive healing modalities. I learned from Indigenous Australian elders and incorporated these teachings into my practice as a holistic energy practitioner.
Additionally, I have honed my intuitive channelling abilities, which I have possessed from a young age, and combined them with official trauma-informed therapy training. This unique combination allows me to offer a comprehensive and personalized energy healing experience to my clients.
Sessions generally run from 1-1.5hr and involve a check-in, time on the table, and a debrief of messages and insights.
Before the Session
Before the energy healing session, you may be asked to fill out a health history form or provide information about any specific health concerns you want to address during the session. You may also be advised to wear comfortable clothing and avoid eating a heavy meal or consuming alcohol or caffeine before the session.
During the Session
Energy healing sessions usually take place in a peaceful, quiet environment. At the beginning of the session there is time for a short discussion about what is alive for you whether it be physical or emotional pain, or even positive to be amplified. You may be asked to lie down on a massage table or sit in a comfortable chair, fully clothed. As an energy practitioner I will use my hands or other tools to detect and remove blockages in your energy field. I may use various techniques, such as light touch or hovering their hands over your body, to facilitate the flow of energy.
During the session, you may be guided through a specific meditation or asked to breath a certain way. I may also use psychic channels to receive intuitive visions and messages for you.
You may experience visuals of colour, sensations that there are multiple people in the room, sensations of warmth, coolness, tingling, or deep relaxation during the session. Some people report feeling emotional or experiencing a release of tension or pain. It is very normal to need to go to the bathroom or cry during a session as the energy is released. It’s important to communicate with the practitioner if you feel uncomfortable or have any concerns during the session.
I may guide you into a theta state, which is a state of deep relaxation and meditation. This state allows the me to read your energy, any visuals, and identify any areas of blockage or imbalance. You may also feel grounded and aligned during this state, which can help promote healing and balance.
After the Session
After the energy healing session, you may feel deeply relaxed and calm. It’s recommended to drink plenty of water and rest for a short period of time. You may also want to take note of any changes you notice in your physical, emotional, or spiritual state over the next few days. Some people report feeling more energized, while others may experience a temporary increase in symptoms before they start to feel better.
I may also provide a debrief and messages of channelled visions and tools after the session to help you understand any insights or guidance they received during the session. This can be helpful in promoting ongoing healing and self-awareness.
